Kristina Week One: Fotos

Week one involved four days of language classes for our newest team members. Kristina can now spout all sorts of semi useful phrases and is learning how to order for herself in Serbian.

I'm starting a series of photos that will involve Kristina's big head in the foreground of my photos and something interesting lurking over her shoulder. Case in point: This man was wearing a neon windbreaker, a floral sweatshirt, matching floral loose knit pants, and floral boots.

He was also on the same wavelength as Kristina. Check out that simultaneous itch.

We also went to Ada and did some scouting for the rest of the summer. This is a science experiment showing how trains manage to stay on the tracks. It didn't really work and mainly involved us hurtling oddly shaped wooden mallets down the track.

Danielle incorrectly assumed one of the train mallets was meant to play the obnoxiously large xylophone found near by.

The newest Belgrade girls.

We also saw the beach. More on that in a later post.

Kristina wanted you to see how ecstatic she was to see all of the speedos on the aging european men.

On Friday we went down to South Serbia to enjoy some time with teammates. At the camp, it was all fun and games until the massive mosquitoes came out to play.

We also helped paint at the camp. I helped too, but Kristina isn't as good at documenting things.

One week in and she's still going strong. There have been moments of hilarity (griffinisms), moments of shear panic (that late night ankle grab in the stair well), delicious food (from many different places), and good fellowship with old and new friends. We're looking forward to weeks two through eight and helping you join in the fun from so far away.
